Project

Medical Diagnosis Victoria Health Centre

Medical Diagnosis Victoria is a joint venture between MHF and Medical Diagnosis, created to deliver a new health centre in Victoria, London. The space was developed primarily for direct-to-consumer healthcare services, while also incorporating a dedicated area for MHF’s private GP practice. The project involved reconfiguring a commercial property into a functional, high-quality clinical environment across both ground and basement levels.

Goals

The goal was to plan and structure the space so it could support a modern direct-to-consumer health centre while also accommodating a discrete private GP offer within the same property. The layout needed to make efficient use of the available footprint, provide a clear and welcoming patient experience, and ensure that the private GP area felt separate and appropriately discreet. Another key objective was to create a cohesive environmental identity for the space through branding, digital signage and wayfinding, helping patients navigate the centre easily while reinforcing a professional and contemporary healthcare setting.

Approach

My approach focused on balancing operational requirements, patient experience and spatial efficiency. I reworked the property layout to support the different service needs within the building, dividing the basement into individual treatment rooms and restructuring the ground floor to create space for reception, additional treatment rooms and offices. A key part of the planning was ensuring that MHF’s private GP service had its own distinct presence within the building. This included allocating a separate, more discreet entrance and private lift access so that the private GP area could operate independently while remaining integrated within the wider health centre. Alongside the interior planning, I developed the visual elements required for the space, including digital signage, wayfinding and branding, so the environment felt clear, cohesive and aligned with the service offer.

Deliverables

I delivered the interior planning for the full health centre, including the basement treatment room layout and reconfiguration of the ground floor to accommodate reception, treatment rooms, offices and the dedicated private GP area. I also designed the digital signage, wayfinding and branded environmental graphics for the site.

Outcomes

The result was a well-structured healthcare environment that supported both the public-facing health centre and MHF’s private GP service within a single property. By combining thoughtful spatial planning with signage and branding, the project created a professional, functional and easy-to-navigate environment tailored to multiple healthcare use cases.
